Federal powers and original intent???
Think comprehensive immigration reform….why did the people of America say that is not what they wanted?
1. Secure our borders
2. Enforce the laws…key word ENFORCE
3. Amend the constitution –repeal the 14th amendment, abberate Anchor Babies
4. Eliminate welfare for illegals
5. Revamp the efforts to obtain citizenship
Do we have so many illegals because it is so difficult to earn the citizenship status? There are legitimate jobs, but do we need to cater to illegals for work? We can offer temporary visas, but instead of cash payouts for labor, we could require that it be operational like a temp job. Is there any sort of process that would bring workers in here legally, that would provide employment, but send the workers home when they are finished.
That is nice, but realize the potential for corruption that exists. We are not necessarily going to sell people on this idea, but it is a possibility. Darrin Chappel is going to present a prospectus on our payouts next meeting. All the money we pay out to entitlements works out to a lump sum payment of $30,000 to each illegal, preferential treatment, and the capacity to wait before re-entering the country.
It’s nice to enforce the border, but WHO and HOW?
In your mind’s eye, is it a VIRTUAL border or a TANGIBLE wall or a combination? What about the legal citizens who are NOT choosing to become gainfully employed? We will come back to that….it depends on rights versus liberties, federalism, personal accountability.
We have the border patrol, the military but from the top down, the brass isn’t willing to do anything or to enforce anything. At the top, what are the agents at the ground supposed to do? They are the ones in need of support.
Any individual wearing another country’s uniform and firing on American citizens will be viewed as an act of war. Policy? Police are not enforcing the border laws and prospectively implementing any control.
I don’t want to sound too liberal when it comes to diplomacy, other countries are encouraging their citizens to come up and lead. We need leadership that will sit with other delegates, and make them realize that they exist because of our support and they need to be made well aware of the reparitions.
Do we fund Mexican Law enforcement because they are underpaid and unaware, as well as undereducated. If we cut their funding off does the battalion stop? How long would it take to see a revolution in Mexico? Illegal trafficking, drug trafficking, etc would conglomerate. Remember that one third of the gross Mexican GDP comes from illegals working here and sending money home.
HOW DOES THAT STOP?
Mexico has no diplomacy. It is a dictatorship. How many people believe that there are orchestrations to compile a cumulative North American Union? If that is already going on, how do we unravel it.

That does not preclude states from taking their own action, as well, but we will focus on a federal policy for this one as opposed to a state policy
As far as marketing, make a clear distinction between immigration and illegal immigration…these are about 30 million voters….we would never win an election if that is the stand we fail to specify. Not only would we want the issue to be legal immigrants dealt with, but to have the issue streamlined….this has to do also with National Security.
How do we package this and how do we market our Conservative philosophy?

If the central government of Mexico has cartels what are they doing running into our country? At a minimum, a level of control of the immigration is monetary control. Since we have border security as an issue, would we perhaps need a separate dichotomous issue….
