In about 1992, the City made a very large contribution to the LAGERS retirement fund.

This contribution was made in order to move from a matching 4% contrubution per City employee, to an 8% contribution per employee.
(The City took over the entire 8% contribution)

What was the total size of this Lagers contribution and what City account did it come from ?

City employees were refunded, in some cases 20-30 years worth of what they had paid in, which amounted to a $60,000 to $80,000 "refund" for some upper-level long time staff.

Answer from the City:

Upon checking the forum site, I am declining to answer this question pursuant to Section 610.021 of the Missouri Sunshine Law.

Can the City provide the YEAR & DATE of when this contribution was made?

Obviously the amount of the contribution is off limits...

From the Saturday News-Leader, it looks like any simple, public questions, now require advance payments to our public servants.

Obvioulsy, this Lagers contribution was a multi-million dollar RETROACTIVE pay increase for the City staff / EXCEPT for the Police and Fire Departments.
