This is truly turning out to be an ugly race. It's unfortunate that Mr. Whitehill's personal life is brought into such a forum, but that's part of public life/politics. Listening to this morning's podcast, it sounds as if, according to Mr. Whitehill, that he was actually trying to protect his wife by getting the weapon away from her and having a more violent situation on his hands. I don't know Mr. Crites, but I think he's right in that all information about a candidate for public office should be available to the general public, and then let them decide based on all of the information. I hope this information was just not put out there to smear Mr. Whitehill's reputation and ruin his career. Domestic violence is a very serious issue, hopefully the facts of this case will come out completely and the public can decide based on the facts and who can lead Christian county law enforcement the best.
