The head of GM's marketing budget has been ousted. Joel Ewanick exited his job of handling a $4.5 Billion dollar budget. He "failed to meet the expectations the company has for its employees."
Earlier this year, many questioned his move to stop advertising on facebook. Most recently, he signed a $600 million dollar deal with Manchester United. He came under heat for this. Not for making the deal(they say), but for not going through the proper channels in doing so.
I can't help but think many American's may be upset with the deal itself.
GM, known as government motors, still owes the taxpayers $42 million dollars. And they are spending $600 million to sponsor a foreign soccer team?
Not good public relations.
