Hilary Clinton disciplined

  • Print

- Nick ReedHilary Clinton, Mitt Romney and President Obama (in that order), made comments today regarding the attacks on the U.S. Embassies in Libya and Egypt. There was something strange about President Obama's comments. He was accompanied by Hilary Clinton, whom as I just mentioned, already spoke not an hour before.

Perhaps she had something more to say? Maybe something to add after Romney spoke. Was she simply going to reiterate the comments she made earlier? As it would turn out, none of these things would occur. Hilary just stood there. You see, she wasn't there to give input, she was there to be disciplined.

After the attacks in Egypt, Clinton put out a statement on the State Department's website stating "We condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims." As you can imagine, many wondered why it was that the U.S. was apologizing to the people attacking us. Obama had a statement issued declaring the State Department (Clinton) didn't clear the statement through Washington. Clearly some conflict here.

This isn't the first time Clinton has caused a problem for Obama recently. Last week, the State Department contradicted the President when it reiterated its position that the U.S. does not consider Jerusalem the capital of Israel.

For an administration accused by Republicans as not having a clear foreign policy message, Hilary Clinton sure isn't much help.

So today she was given a public shaming. After already giving a statement as Secretary of State, she was then hauled out to stand next to Obama while he gave his take. It wasn't to indicate where the State Department stood on the attacks. She had just done that. No, this was done to teach her a lesson. "You publicly mess up my message, you will stand quietly next to me while I explain it. You will stand by your man."

I guess she is used to that.
