Sexual Orientation Task Force:
The Springfield Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Task Force is holding a meeting on Monday afternoon.

Gay Marriage:
Pennsylvania's Democrat Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, says she will will not defend a challenge to the state's gay-marriage ban.  She believes it is unconstitutional.

Zimmerman Trial:
The trial against George Zimmerman is wrapping up.  The defense will make it's closing remarks today.

Missouri Legislation:
The Locke and Smith Foundation analyzes Missouri legislation for constitutionality.

SB118- Authorizes the creation of veterans treatment courts

HB702- Allows the State Treasurer to make certain information available to the public in order to facilitate the identification of the original owner of military medals deemed to be abandoned property

HB322- Changes the laws regarding motor vehicle insurance policies

SB129- Establishes the Volunteer Health Services Act to allow for licensed health care professionals to provide volunteer services for a sponsoring organization

HB196- Changes the laws regarding unemployment benefits, requires the Department of Economic Development to establish the Missouri Works Training Program, and establishes the Missouri Works Job Training Joint Legislative Oversight Committee

SB 43- Increases the weight allowance for vehicles equipped with idle reduction technology from 400 pounds to 550 pounds to reflect change in federal law

SB 117- Allows individuals who are separating from the military to have resident student status for purposes of attending public institutions of higher education

HB 103- Changes the laws regarding transportation

Midwest Republican Leadership Conference:
The Republican Party will be holding a leadership conference in Kansas City in September
