I was on Let's Make a Deal

  • Print

Right before Christmas I took a trip out to LA to visit my sister, and we filmed an episode of “Let’s Make a Deal” with Wayne Brady. She dressed as Waldo, and I went as Strawberry Short Cake.

They never really told us when our episode would air so we have eagerly been watching the show and waiting. Yesterday was the big day!

Even though we weren’t selected as a contestant for the show, we were however located right in the front and center of the audience. Between my sister and I we were in most of the show.

I have had a lot of people ask me what it was like to be on the show. If you’re interested, here’s a quick behind-the-scenes run-down of what happened.

When we got there we waiting in line outside the studio and signed a bunch of paperwork. Then they took us through security and we chatted with a producer for the show. (She’s the one who picks who gets to be contestants). She asks where you’re from, what you do, and chats quickly about stupid stuff. She’s looking for excitement and fun people for on-air.

From there we were put in a room we called “the holding cell.” The whole studio audience hung out in that room for a couple hours. While we were there, several people from the show explained the procedure and gave us several tips for when we record. Once they were ready for us, they ushered us into the studio.

We didn’t sit in the order of the line we were in. There was a staff member that was picking and choosing where people got to sit. We got REALLY lucky with our seats! Once the show started filming it went really fast. During the “commercial breaks” they were setting up for the next segment. They would play music for us and get us up and dancing.

While we didn’t get selected to play the game, it was a blast! If you ever make it out to LA I highly suggest you add attending a filming of Let’s Make A Deal.
