CITY OF LACLEDE 
Shall the County of Laclede impose a local use ta on online and out of state purchases at the same rate as the local sales tax rate, currently one and three sixteenths percent, provided that if the local sales tax rate is reduced or raised by the same action. A use tax return shall not be required to be filed by persons whose purchases from online and out of state vendors do not in total exceed two thousand dollars in any calendar year. Approval of this question will remove a competitive disadvantage that local retailers face against certain online and out of state retailers who are not currently subject to the local sales tax by imposing such tax equally. The use tax wil not increase sales tax on purchases made at local businesses.
