The Missouri Department of Conservation says nearly 100,000 deer were harvested during the opening weekend of firearms season November 10th and 11th.

Of the 99,567 deer harvested, nearly 56,000 were antlered bucks and more than 34,000 were does.

Franklin County in east central Missouri led the way with more than 2,000 deer checked.

A year ago, hunters harvested 94,886 deer during opening weekend.

The November part of firearms deer season continues through Tuesday, November 20th.
