The storm up north has slowly started to push its way into the Ozarks.

The National Weather Service says we could continue to see a winter mix of rain and snow throughout the night.

National Weather Service meteorologist, Cory Rothstein, says freezing drizzle will continue over the I-44 corridor and then some light snow north of highway 54.

“The storm will continue to push east through the area and should be in Springfield by 10 pm. and then mostly clear by midnight,” says Rothstein.

Heading into the overnight hours, temperatures are expected to drop with wind chills in the single digits.

The freezing drizzle could affect higher elevated areas like bridges and overpasses, which can affect people’s morning commute.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the lower 20’s.

There’s a winter weather advisory in effect until midnight for most of the Ozarks.
