Attorney General Josh Hawley is in hot water for allegedly utilizing public resources to help boost his campaign bid for U-S Senate against Claire McCaskill.
A left-leaning organization named the American Democracy Legal Fund filed a complaint against Hawley, accusing him of placing his public staff under the direction of campaign consultants.
The Missouri Secretary of State has opened an investigation into Hawley and confirmed the investigation Thursday.
Hawley’s office says it welcomes the investigation and wants to put the accusations to rest.
Hawley defeated McCaskill in the November election and will take office next month.
