City Utilities spokesperson Joel Alexander tells KTTS News that power was restored to the area shortly before 7 p.m.

Alexander says a tree limb that was saturated with rainwater landed on a power line, sparking the outage. The outage left hundreds of homes without power, along with the Primrose Marketplace shopping center.

Nearly 600 people are without power in Springfield.

City Utilities spokesman Joel Alexander says line crews are working to identify the cause of a power outage in southeast Springfield near Glenstone and Primrose.

KTTS News has received reports that the Target and that shopping center is also without power.

Additional information will be provided when the cause has been identified.
