Information provided by CoxHealth:

The first 2019 hospital birth in Springfield came shortly after the new year, when Darcy Wilson welcomed baby Waylon into the world at 12:54 a.m. at Cox South.

At birth, the baby weighed 8 pounds and 14 ounces, and measured 20 inches long. He was quickly greeted by a host of family and friends who came to visit, including his three older siblings. Darcy says that the experience has been a good one for the family.

CoxHealth presented a giraffe-themed gift basket to Darcy in honor of her new baby. It included plush toys, a rattle, blankets, a memory album, a manicure set, several books – including a copy of “Goodnight Moon,” – a gift card to the CoxHealth Gift Shop, and a congratulatory card from CoxHealth administration.
