Light Accumulating Snow, Dangerous Wind Chills Expected On Saturday

There won’t be a lot of snow this weekend, but what does fall could make the roads slick for drivers on Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Springfield says light snow will spread over the central part of the state early Saturday morning and eventually will be more widespread by the afternoon.

The best area for accumulating snow will east of Highway 65 and areas north of Highway 60.

Weather hazards with this winter system will be dangerous wind chills in the low single digits and will arrive late Saturday night into Sunday.

Meteorologists say some places in the Ozarks may not get any snow.

The high will be below freezing on Saturday, with temperatures dropping into the teens Saturday night.

A storm early next week could bring the area another limited chance for some light snow.
