We have reports of a tornado touchdown one mile north of Purcell. A fireman reported seeing rotation and damage from the tornado. He reported minor damages.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 5am for areas along and north of I-44.
Specific counties include: Barton, Cedar, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, and Webster.
This storm’s development indicated a possibility of Tornadoes, quarter sized hail, and winds over 60 mph.
A storm that developed earlier over the Springfield metropolitan area produced pea and dime sized hail.
In the event you are caught in a severe thunderstorm, move to an interior room or the lowest floor of the building.
