Inspectors In Greene County Checking Fireworks Stands Before They Open

It’s that time of the year, when fireworks stands will be opening but first they all have to be inspected by Greene County inspectors.

If the location is at a tent, the tent has to have a certification that it’s been treated to be fire retardant.

Stands are also required to have “no smoking” signs in and outside the building.

One business had to meet a checklist of 40 requirements because of being in a metal building.

And “no fireworks discharge” signs have to be at every entrance.

Stands and tents can sell those fireworks from June 20 thru July 10th.

An inspector says fireworks stands have to get several permits to sell:  Greene County building permits, Greene County merchant licenses, Missouri Fire Marshall Fire Safety permits and Missouri sales tax licenses and they all have to be clearly visible.
