Former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens may be throwing his hat in the ring for the 2020 gubernatorial election.
Official documents found on the Missouri Ethics Committee website state that in 2019, a statement of committee organization was approved that listed Eric Greitens as a candidate for the governor of Missouri. The documents may or may not indicate a run.
The file listed his political affiliation as Republican.
The former Missouri governor resigned from office in 2018 after a scandal broke on a former affair he had with a woman and he was indicted for felony invasion of privacy. The charges against him were later dropped.
A 2020 run, however, may conflict with other statements including those the Kansas City Star has reported. The Star reports that several of Greitens friends suggest he was unwilling to return to politics and that he was seeking deployment with the Navy.
