A new couple will be taking over top leadership positions at the Salvation Army in Springfield as the former leaders go on sick leave.

Major Butch and Lisa Frost have been with the Salvation Army for many years. The couple will be going go on sick leave so they can focus on Major Butch’s ongoing battle with cancer.

The organization says Majors Butch and Lisa will be officially transferred to a Salvation Army appointment in Kansas City, where their healing and restoration will continue with immediate family nearby.

Their last day with the Springfield Salvation Army Corps was this last Sunday, July 14th. Over the next few weeks they will be making the necessary preparations for their move.

In the interim, Majors Robert and Vicki Buttrey who live in Springfield, will oversee and manage all operations of this location for the next few weeks.

The Salvation Army says it expects an announcement will be made by The Salvation Army administration in St. Louis by August 31st as to who the next Corps Officers will be here in Springfield.
