Severe Weather And Strong Winds In The Ozarks This Evening

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected in the Ozarks starting early this evening.

The National Weather Service says damaging winds and a few brief tornadoes will be possible.

Areas along and east of Highway 65 have the best chance of severe weather, with an enhanced risk for our far eastern counties.

The storms will race across the area at speeds of 55 to 75 miles per hour, so if a warning is issued, don’t wait to take shelter.

Very strong wind gusts will move in behind the storms and the cold front, with gusts reaching as high as 45-55 miles per hour through the overnight hours.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
