City Utilities crews have been working to fix a natural gas line after a private contractor hit a gas main this afternoon.
Customers on Grant between Illdereen and Portland have been without natural gas service.
CU says the contractor was not working for the utility at the time.
A spokesman says he’s unsure what crews were working on.
