After another day of heat and humidity, with temps reaching into the lower 90’s, we’ll have a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms late Friday night into early Saturday morning as a cluster of storms approaches from the north.
The National Weather Service says areas north of Springfield have a better chance of seeing damaging winds and large hail overnight, but as storms are ongoing Saturday morning, much of southwest Missouri will be under the gun for 60 plus mile per hour winds and quarter size hail.
The storms should clear out by Saturday afternoon, leaving behind more heat and humidity, with a high of 91 and heat index readings up near 98.
