The man was from Brazil. No reports have confirmed whether the patient had received the vaccine or a placebo.
AstraZenica has told Fox News that the company cannot comment on individual cases due to regulation.
An anonymous source has told Reuters that the trial would not be continuing if the man had received a vaccine.
