Springfield’s Dickerson Park Zoo is welcoming three cheetah cubs.
The zoo’s veterinarian, Dr. Stephanie Zec, along with the animal care staff, delivered the cubs by C-section back on October 1st.
The mom, named Babs, is five years old.
Her pregnancy was closely monitored, but she was very late term.
The two boys and a girl are doing well.
They’re being cared for by zoo staff, with around-the-clock bottle feedings every three hours.
The cubs are on on exhibit, and they’ll continue to be hand-raised until further direction from the Cheetah Species Survival Plan.
