Just over 100 people in Springfield are without power, with most of those outages in the north and central parts of town.
City Utilities spokesman Joel Alexander sent an email Saturday morning advising that crews had worked through the night to take care of the situation.
Around 3,000 were without power as of 5 p.m. Friday.
Alexander says they had been preparing for this storm all week, but the difficulty in taking care of the problem lies in the details. Much of the work needed in the northern and central parts of town requires crews to get into people’s backyards to fix power lines, slowing down the process.
More than 12,000 customers were without power at storm peak.
