Greene County Deputies have taken a wanted fugitive into custody after a high-speed pursuit through Springfield Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities arrived at a location where Johnnie Coffer was located but the suspect and another person left the home in a vehicle.
Investigators say the two were near I-44 and West Bypass when the suspect forced the driver out of the car and fled from authorities.
Law enforcement says the fugitive hit an uninvolved vehicle and purposely hit a deputy’s car.
The chase ended before 5 p.m. near Dale and Grant.
Coffer had been wanted by authorities for multiple felonies since November 2021 and violated probation by removing his ankle monitor.
