Transgender Stories:

The Springfield News-Leader wrote a piece about Springfield protesters showing support for transgender children.

Nick reached out to the News-Leader regarding some disinformation within the story. The story states, “SB 42, proposed by Republican Sen. Rick Brattin of Harrisonville, contains measures that would allow school districts to ban transgender girls from youth sports. It is one of many proposed bills this session geared toward restricting the activity of transgender individuals at school and when accessing health care.”

Nick read through SB 42… Here’s what it says, “Upon adoption by a school district and approval of the residents of the school district, no public school shall knowingly allow a student of the male sex who is enrolled in such public school to participate in a school-sponsored athletic team that is exclusively for students of the female sex. Beginning July 1, 2024, the Joint Committee on Education shall study exclusively male or female athletic events and the impact of a policy that prohibits participation in those events by individuals of the opposite sex. By January 1, 2025, the Committee shall report its findings to the General Assembly.”

Nick asked the News-Leader where in SB 42 does it ban transgender girls from youth sports. He has not heard back.

The Washington State Department of Health is taking heat for refusing to use the word “woman” once in an advertisement about cervical cancer awareness.  “Transmasculine persons with a cervix should talk to their doctor about #CervicalCancer screening and the #HPVvax.”

The Hollywood Reporter turned heads on social media Tuesday with their tweet celebrating Michelle Yeoh for being the first person who “identifies as Asian” to be nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

PELOSI:

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., introduced the PELOSI Act, officially the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act, requiring members and their spouses to divest any holdings or put them in a blind trust within six months of entering office.

Pepsi vs. Coke:

Culver’s announced they are switching from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products, and people are MAD.

Classified Documents:

Former Vice President Mike Pence informed Congress on Tuesday that he discovered documents bearing classified markings from his time as vice president in his Carmel, Indiana, home on Jan. 16.

Pence said during an interview late last year that he did not take any classified documents with him from the White House.

A CNN reporter suggested an “amnesty” over classified documents Tuesday following revelations involving former Vice President Mike Pence discovering materials in his home.
