(KTTS News) — After this weekend, the MSHSAA state high school basketball championships return to Columbia.
Springfield managed to get the games by paying out $80,000 dollars a year for five years.
It tried to get the championships for five more years, upping its bid to $100,000 dollars a year.
But that wasn’t enough.
Columbia outbid the city, coming in about $30,000 dollars higher.
