(KTTS News) — The Hotel of Terror eminent domain debate goes back to Springfield City Council tonight.

Thousands of people signed a petition to save the attraction after city council voted to use eminent domain to take the property.

If council decides to call a special election, it would go before voters on August 8.

Right now, it would be the only issue on the ballot, and holding an election would cost around $250,000 dollars.

Council can also vote to repeal the eminent domain ordinance.

If that happens, both sides will have to keep negotiating until they reach an agreement.
