(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – The Springfield Police Department is holding a name contest for their new comfort K9.
The voting link will be live until Thursday at 11:59 PM.
The top four names include Lt. Dan, Mac, Gary, and Copper.
The names were chosen by the Springfield Police Department’s Leadership Council and the top four names were determined by a departmental vote.
The first three names in the final four are inspired by Gary Sinise.
As part of the $35,000 grant from the Gary Sinise Foundation, SPD has purchased a comfort K9 to serve the department and support officer wellness.
The currently unnamed puppy is an 8-week-old chocolate lab.
