WASHINGTON, Dec 18 (Reuters) – Donald Trump is expected to announce a pilot program to reimburse Medicare patients’ CBD treatments, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, when the U.S. president is also expected to address the potential loosening of U.S. marijuana regulations.
Citing six people familiar with the plans, the report said the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which oversees the federal health insurance program for older Americans, could launch the pilot as soon as next year and has previously examined paying for CBD, or cannabidiol, use to help treat cancer.
