The Springfield Greene County Health Department will be ignoring a recent CDC flip flop on testing for the coronavirus.
The CDC reversed its position Thursday, saying that asymptomatic people who have been exposed to the virus do not need to be tested.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department says the decision not to test people who are exposed to the virus may make sense when tests were in short supply but not now that Greene County has abundant access to tests.
Health officials at the department say that “with COVID” local context is important.
