A judge has appointed an independent legal guardian for the children of former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, pointedly going out of her way to say the decision was not based on abuse allegations against him recently leveled by his ex-wife amid his current campaign for the U.S. Senate.

Monkeypox:
The CDC raised its alert level for monkeypox to level 2 on Monday, recommending that travelers wear masks, among other health measures.
Biden Administration:
Attorneys Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman, were accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail into a police vehicle in New York. They were facing domestic terrorism charges and the possibility of 30 years in jail. This week, the Biden Administration agreed to a massive reduction of the charges in a plea agreement that will likely result only in a couple years of jail time.
