Springfield Police Officer Christopher Walsh Honored by Running 4 Heroes

Fallen Springfield Police Officer Christopher Walsh, 32, was honored by Running 4 Heroes last night.

Officer Walsh was killed in the line of duty after responding to the scene of a shooter at a Kum & Go Store at 2885 east Chestnut Expressway.

Walsh had been with the department for more than three years and was an Army veteran. He had been with the Army Reserves for 10 years.

Running 4 Heroes is a Non-Profit in Florida founded by 11-year old Zechariah Cartledge.

The mission of Running 4 Heroes is to raise funds for injured First Responders across the nation, while also paying tribute to Fallen Heroes through running.

During a run for a fallen hero, Zechariah runs with a flag. He then presents that flag he ran with to the First Responder family in which he ran for.
