I-95 Accident:

Virginia’s Republican Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin doesn’t take office until Jan. 15 – yet some critics Tuesday tried to blame him, instead of the commonwealth’s outgoing Democratic incumbent, for a 179-mile-long traffic mess on Interstate 95.

COVID-19:

Walmart and Kroger jacked up the price of an on-demand rapid COVID-19 test after a 100-day agreement with the White House to sell it at cost expired. Both companies had agreed in September to sell the test kits at cost for three months.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan is defending former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), claiming that despite their deficiencies during the pandemic, “at least they had good intentions.”

Springfield News-Leader:

Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott joins Nick Reed this morning. Nick and Sheriff Arnott talk about a piece written by Andrew Sullender with the Springfield News-Leader.

MO Redistricting:

Missouri Republican legislative leaders proposed a redistricting map that could eliminate a Republican seat and add a Democrat one. Why are Republicans playing nice?

Soleimani:

Some in the Middle East are again vowing revenge for the death of terrorist Qassem Soleimani.

Department of State:

The Department of State promoted Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s Spotify playlist multiple times on Twitter. What about Afghanistan? What about Russia & troops at the border of Ukraine? What about missiles that are being built by our enemies?

Critical Race Theory:

Many schools are not resuming classes as the year begins, citing COVID-19, after spending some of the $130 billion schools received for reopening on Critical Racist Theory-infused initiatives instead.

Crime Wave:
Chicago Alderman Michele Smith (D-Ward 43) wants her constituents to wear whistles, which they can blow while running towards armed robbers, should they witness a crime taking place.
