(KTTS News) — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday in Cassville for the new Barry County Jail and sheriff’s office.
The $17-million dollar facility will house around 100 inmates.
It will also include an area for inmates with mental health issues.
County officials expect the new jail to help with employee recruitment and retention.
It should be completed in July 2024.
KY3 says a new Barry County Health Department is planned to go up at the same location.
