(Reuters) – The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has sued the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, accusing the student loan servicer of illegally collecting on student loans that have been discharged in bankruptcy, and sending false information about consumers to credit reporting companies.
The lawsuit was disclosed on Friday on the CFPB’s website. No additional information was immediately available.
