A woman from Norwood has died after hitting a cow that was in the middle of the road.
The accident happened on Monday night near Gainesville.
31-year-old Holly P. Cooke was southbound on Highway 5 when she hit a cow that was in the road.
Cooke passed away at the scene.
A 10-year-old boy was also seriously injured in the crash and was transported to a local hospital.
This is MSHP Troop G’s 11th fatality crash in 2024.
