BOSTON (Reuters) – Harvard University on Friday said its interim president, Alan Garber, will remain as president of the school through the spring of 2027.
Garber became interim president in January after his predecessor Claudine Gay resigned amid allegations of plagiarism and backlash over her congressional testimony about antisemitism on campus.
The school will launch a search for Garber’s successor in the late spring or summer of 2026, said Penny Pritzker, senior fellow of the Harvard Corporation, on the school’s website.
