Trump Hit Pieces:

The latest Trump hit piece claims that Trump refused to cover the funeral costs of a soldier who was murdered at a Texas military base in 2020. The Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg published an article about Trump and his promise to pay for Vanessa Guillén’s funeral costs. Trump became angry when he was informed the funeral was $60,000, the article said. “‘It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a f‑‑‑‑‑‑ Mexican!” Goldberg reported Trump saying. “He later turned to his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and issued an order: ‘Don’t pay it!’”

GOP strategist/political analyst Scott Jennings said during a recent interview, “It probably will shock Kamala Harris and the rest of her campaign staff to learn that there are incumbent Democrat US Senators in this country right now running television ads touting all their work with this “modern-day Hitler. I wonder if Kamala Harris tonight in our town hall meeting will call for them to take these ads off the air touting their work with this “Hitler I mean, if he were really “Hitler,” if he were really “a threat to democracy,” not a single Democrat in this country would be running ads touting their work with Donald Trump.”

New York Times report on Sunday that equated skepticism about Kamala Harris’s claim to have worked at McDonald’s with birtherism was based in large part on a source—a friend of Harris’s—who said that Harris’s late mother told her about the job. She also serves as a Kamala surrogate.
