The grandmother of Nathan Sneed, an inmate who escaped from the Greene County Jail Monday night needed surgery and staples to fix a wound she suffered after a K-9 from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office attacked her.
Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott says it’s the first time one of his K-9’s ever bit an innocent citizen and tells KY3 News, “We’re trying to take care of any issues that we have. Its one of those situations that’s very unfortunate”.
The grandmother let deputies and the K-9 in her home after authorities were concerned Sneed would show up after his escape.
The K-9 also bit its handler as the deputy tried to pry the dog off woman’s arm.
The dog involved in this situation was the youngest in the department about two years old.
