Webster County Deputies have arrested a man wanted in a homicide case in Springfield.
Early Saturday morning, Springfield Police identified a missing truck that belonged to a homicide victim on Kansas near I-44. Police and Greene County Deputies pursued the vehicle to Farm Road 165 and Burntwood, where the suspect fled west.
An hours-long manhunt ensued, with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office deploying helicopters and K-9s to assist in their search. Early Saturday evening, Greene County deputies received word that Webster County Deputies had arrested a man matching the description of their suspect for unrelated charges.
Greene County Deputies found the body of the victim, Stanley Scott Simon, on Tuesday on Farm Road 148 in Bois D’Arc. Deputies received a well-being check call from Simon’s coworkers, who said Simon was late. His coworkers said it was unlike him.
