Press Release

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller today is reminding new residents who recently moved to Greene County that they have until 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 7th, to register to be eligible for the August 3rd Special Election.

To register to vote you can come to 940 N. Boonville, Room 113 in the Historic Courthouse or you can also register at a branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library.

Mail-in (Postcard) registrations will also be accepted if they are postmarked by today, Wednesday, July 7th.

You can also register to vote online at: https://greenecountymo.gov/county_clerk/voter.php

When registering to vote, be sure to bring along an acceptable form of identification, such as a valid driver’s license, current utility bill or bank statement.

These forms of acceptable identification can be found here.

Under state and federal laws, registered voters are not disqualified for moving within a
county, but Schoeller urges anyone who has moved or changed his/her name to contact his office as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary delays to help ensure a better voting experience on the day of the election.

These changes must be completed in writing.

The districts holding an election on August 3rd are the City of Republic, Walnut Grove R-5 School District and Brookline Fire Protection District.

The sample August 3rd ballots for Greene County are available in the Greene County Clerk’s Office and a candidates and issues composite is available online at: www.greenecountymo.gov/county_clerk/election/candb_issues.php
