Russia/Ukraine War:
Did President Vladimir Putin overplay his hand by invading Ukraine?

The United Nations Security Council will vote Friday on a resolution that would condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and demand the withdrawal of all Russian troops. The measure is set to fail because Moscow can cast a veto in the 15-member Security Council.

The United Nations Security Council held its second meeting this week on Russian aggression against Ukraine late Tuesday – a meeting presided over by the Russian ambassador.

A group of Ukrainian warriors are being hailed as heroes over reports that they resisted to the bitter end a Russian warship that threatened their island outpost. The Ukrainians’ told the Russians, “Russian warship, go f*** yourself,” before being attacked.

A viral video captured a sobbing Ukrainian father bidding farewell to his daughter before she began her trek to flee the war-torn country – while he was forced to stay behind because of a ban that prevents all able-fighting men from leaving the nation.

Gas Prices:

Secretary of State Antony Blinken responded to a question on whether the United States will cut off purchases of oil and gas from Russia over its invasion of Ukraine by stating that we’re trying to ensure “that we inflict maximum pain on Russia” while at the same time, “minimizing any of the pain to us.”

As gas prices skyrocket, the Biden administration announced this week that they’re indefinitely delaying new oil and gas drilling on federal land and other energy-related actions following a federal court ruling that blocks the administration from using their steep “social cost of carbon” estimate.

The CDC is reportedly about to get on board with what several states and cities throughout the country have already done, including the most liberal ones, and loosen its mask guidelines.

Supreme Court:

President Biden has reportedly selected Ketanji Brown Jackson as his nominee for the Supreme Court to replace Justice Stephen Breyer.
