LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A former White House spokesman whose testimony about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was broadcast before a House committee is joining Sarah Sanders’ campaign for Arkansas governor.
Sanders’ campaign on Tuesday announced Judd Deere will serve as its communications director. Sanders, a Republican, is running against Democrat Chris Jones.
Deere was among several senior staff hires announced by the Sanders campaign.
Deere served as deputy White House press secretary under former President Donald Trump.
Sanders is a former Trump press secretary.
Deere’s testimony about Jan. 6 aired before the House committee investigating the riot last month.
