No Problems With J&J Vaccine At Springfield Vaccination Event

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department says there have been no reports of any reactions locally to the Johnson and Johnson vaccine that was given during last week’s COVID-19 two-day mega event.

More than 6,100 people got the one-dose vaccine on April 8 and 9.

On Tuesday, the U.S. ordered a pause on the use of the J&J vaccine after reports of some blood clots in women in other locations.

Health officials will answer questions today about what the pause means.

A spokesman says people are still encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible because the benefits outweigh the risks.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are still available.
