A man from Springfield has been charged with trying to steal a catalytic converter.
Springfield Police were called to a business on South Enterprise last week after people reported a loud grinding noise.
36-year-old Gerald Schmidt was arrested after surveillance video and witnesses identified him as the man who tried to take the converter off a vehicle.
