Today is National Donut Day.
The sweet day was established in 1938 to honor The Salvation Army’s “Donut Lassies,” who made history by serving thousands of soldiers on the front lines during World War I.
Yesterday, Nick was at Hurts Donut to talk about the national day, and to help promote the fact that Hurts was created by a former Marine.
The company will also be donating a portion of proceeds to a local organization on National Donut Day.
That local organization, The Warrior’s Journey, helps stop Military and Veteran suicides.
