ST. LOUIS (AP) — Officials say a man has died in a house fire on the north end of St. Louis.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that firefighters were called around 8 p.m. Thursday for a fire in a two-story home in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.
Officials said a father and son lived in the home and that the son jumped from a window to escape the flames.
Fire officials said the father died in the home.
Their names were not immediately released.
Fire officials said it appeared there were no working smoke detectors in the home and requested a regional bomb and arson unit to investigate the cause of the fire.
